  • Only one of them needs to live in Canada for a year. However, they need reason to be there (job, school, or family). A visitor visa expires after 6 months. Then they are in the country illegally.

  • Canadian marriage law has only one restriction - blood/adoption relations. Each province has some other requirements, where these women get married the restriction is that they both have to be over 18. Canadian DIVORCE law, however, does require a year of residency.
